Minister Plato to announce effect of Firearm Legislation on Crime

On Sunday, 23 August 2015, Western Cape Minister of Community Safety will brief journalists on the findings of a study conducted by the Western Cape Department of Community Safety on the effects of firearm legislation on crime in the province.

Minister Plato will outline the problems that have been identified as well as the Department’s proposals and recommendations to tackle the problem and availability of illegal guns in the province.

There will be an opportunity for photographs and interviews. A full copy of the report will be provided to journalists in attendance.
