Minister Plato continues Youth Safety Outreach in Nyanga

10 February 2015

Tomorrow, Wednesday 11 February 2015, Western Cape Minister of Community Safety, Dan Plato, together with officials from the Department of Community Safety, will continue with another youth safety outreach, this time to be conducted in Nyanga.

Together with the help of the Neighbourhood Watch, Community Policing Forum and the South African Police Service (SAPS), Minister Plato and officials will seek to assess and help address problems of safety and drug abuse, particularly among the youth, as well as inform and engage with parents about their role and responsibility towards their children’s safety and education.

Various programmes exist within the Department of Community Safety which provide alternative opportunities for youth at risk to help them rise above current circumstances and equip them with opportunities to improve their lives and help create a better future, better together.

There will be an opportunity for photographs and interviews.
