Department of Community Safety to Host an After School Youth Programme

24 March 2014

On Tuesday, March 25, 2014 the Department of Community Safety will host an After School Youth Safety Programme.

As part of the Department’s oversight mandate, and in line with the Provincial Strategic Objective 5: Increasing Safety, the project comes as a welcomed partnership between the Department,  and the City of Cape Town.

This interactive project involves youth from the Chrysalis Academy,  joining  city and departmental officials,  by occupying learners and out of school youth with after school activities, in various areas, as identified by the Department.   The aim is to spend the afternoon doing recreational activities such as games, sport, and assist with homework.  The afternoon also provides an opportunity for the Chrysalis Academy youth to share their experiences and encourage youth in gang affected areas.
