Red Cross Awards Staff Members for Long Service Excellence

Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital expressed their sincere gratitude to dedicated long-serving employees of Western Cape Government Health at a special Long Service Awards ceremony held at the hospital on 30 May 2016. 

Each of the recipients has dedicated between 20 and 40 years of their lives to the public service and was recognised for their uninterrupted service and the significant impact they have had on service delivery within the public service.

This year, 53 employees received long service awards – 25 staff members were awarded for 20 years, 25 staff members for 30 years and 3 staff members for 40 years of service.

"They can be incredibly proud of their achievements. They have contributed to the many successes of the department and the hospital over the years. May they keep up the good work and continue to support each other in realising our desired goals," said Dr Matodzi Mukosi, CEO of Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital.

Dr Mukosi stressed the importance of the event by adding: "It was only fitting to acknowledge those dedicated recipient for their respect, efforts and commitment over the years."

Together, the award recipients reflected the wide range of services provided and the expertise and commitment of the workforce, which play an important role in patients receiving excellent care and ultimately improving the patient’s experience.
