EMS Alert: EMS Responds to Three Separate Incidents

Western Cape Government Health's Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded to three significant incidents on 7 June 2012.

At 12:40 on the Du Toits Kloof Pass, outside the Huguenot Tunnel - Two heavy duty trucks collided head-on. One adult male driver was declared dead on arrival; he was removed from the wreckage by EMS Rescue technicians. The surviving driver in the second truck was coded serious by paramedics and transported to a health facility by ER24.

At 13:10 at Bofor Circle, Epping 2 - One adult male sustained serious crush injuries and possible rib fractures after a wall collapsed on top of him. He was removed by Local Fire and Rescue and transported by EMS ambulance to Tygerberg Hospital.

At 14:05 on the R45, Voel Vlei Dam (outside of Wellington towards Gouda) - Two adult males were declared dead on arrival after two heavy duty trucks collided. EMS sent a team of four EMS Rescue Technicians to extricate the deceased from the wreckage. There were no other patients on the scene.
