Invitation to the Pink and Blue Child Awareness Campaign

We would like to invite you to join the Department of Health, TygerBear Foundation and more than 3000 children, well known performers and celebrities on Wednesday 12 August, from 10h00-12h00, in the celebration of the Pink & Blue Child Awareness Campaign at Ratanga Junction. The morning includes entertainment by well known artists such as Garth Taylor, Lize Beekman, CAFDA Dance School and Jak de Priester, who wrote, and performs the Pink & Blue theme song "I am your Child". The time has come to MAKE A CHOICE - TAKE A STAND - BE HEARD! Blow the whistle at 12pm on the 12th, against Children's Trauma!

The TygerBear Foundation has identified a dire need to educate and sensitise and has therefore established the Pink & Blue Child Awareness Campaign. It aims to not only educate the child, but also the family, business sector and society as whole, regarding the rights, needs and responsibilities of children as well as parents and all role players in child caring.

The TygerBear Foundation for traumatised children and their families offers an unique, holistic approach to the identification, therapy, after care and prevention of a wide spectrum of trauma in children, from pre-birth to 18 years including physical, psychological, sexual and emotional child abuse, unwanted pregnancies, neglect, illness and hospitalisation, chronic and terminal illnesses for e.g. cancer, substance abuse, suicide attempts, HIV/AIDS, domestic violence, gang violence etc.

The services rendered by this unit, include a 24 hours help line, assessment as well as crisis intervention, short and long term therapy (for e.g. specialisation fields, play therapy) and various prevention and empowerment programs such as the TygerBear Safety Programme, Hospital Preparation Programme, Court Preparation Programme and a specialised teenage programme "Getting to grips with Life" focusing on the adjustment of being young adolescents as well as HIV/AIDS information and prevention.
