7 December 2009

The Western Cape Department of Health's Metro Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and Rescue is currently on the scene of a motor accident on the N2, 3km outside of Heidelberg, in the direction of Riversdale.

A Datsun light duty (LDV) vehicle and a milk tanker were involved in a head on collision at around 11:30 this morning. The LDV is trapped under the milk tanker and burnt out, resulting in both occupants of the LDV being burnt beyond recognition.

Metro EMS paramedics examined the driver of the milk tanker on the scene, but he is uninjured and won't be taken to hospital.
