New Forensic Pathology and Emergency Medical Service Premises to be Launched

Minister of Health in the Western Cape, Mr Theuns Botha, will officially inaugurate the new premises for Forensic Pathology Services (FPS) and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) on the premises of Tygerberg Hospital on 14 October 2010. The opening of these offices will mark a huge stride by the Western Cape Provincial Department of Health toward improving service delivery to the people of the Western Cape.

The Forensic Pathology Services administrative offices were initially stationed in Dorp Street, Cape Town and an Emergency Medical Services unit was initially stationed at the Delft Community Health Centre. Together these units employ over four hundred and fifty (450) employees who include medical specialists, operational staff, administrative support staff, Intermediate Life Support, Basic Life Support staff as well as paramedics who work 24/7 with the aim of providing quality services to our communities.
