Media Alert: Opening of R900 000 Upgraded Psychiatry Unit at New Somerset Hospital

Tomorrow, the Western Cape Minister of Health, Theuns Botha, will open the upgraded Psychiatric Unit at New Somerset Hospital. The R900 000 renovations were completed last month. The hospital's Psychiatric Ward was upgraded from a four-bed unit to the current ten-bed Psychiatric Unit. The new Psychiatric Unit accommodates up to 13 patients and offers a 72-hour psychiatric observation service.
