For the first time in the history of Tygerberg Hospital, its cardiac ICU beds will be replaced after Medi-Clinic donated 28 cardiac ICU beds to the hospital. These beds will replace all of the out-dated and broken beds that are currently in use in the ward.
The beds will be handed over by Medi-Clinic Southern Africa Chief Executive Officer, Koert Pretorius, to the Western Cape Minister of Health, Theuns Botha, at a ceremony held at the hospital tomorrow. Ward A6, where the beds will be allocated, is a cardiac ward where all the patients with heart failure and heart attacks are admitted.
