Media Alert: EMS Responded to Motor Vehicle Accident on N7

Western Cape Government Health's Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded to a motor vehicle accident on the N7 early this morning:

N7 near Atlantis - At 06:22 - In a head-on collision between a taxi, truck and car, EMS personnel attended to 12 patients on the scene, of which:

- Two adult males sustained serious head injuries and had to be airlifted to Groote Schuur and Tygerberg hospitals by the AMS/ Rescue and ER24 choppers. One of the passengers in the car had to be removed from the wreckage by EMS Rescue Technicians using the Jaws of Life.
- Two adult males suffered possible lower leg and rib fractures and were transported to Groote Schuur Hospital by ambulance.
- Five patients coded serious due to lower leg fractures and injuries were transported to New Somerset Hospital.
- Three patients sustained minor injuries and were transported to Atlantis Community Health Clinic.
