Media Alert: EMS Responds to Lion's Head Rescue Call

Western Cape Government Health's Emergency Medical Services (EMS) recently responded to a mountain rescue and aquatic call.

At 09:04 on Lion's Head - In a mountain rescue earlier today, a 48-year-old British tourist (female) dislocated her shoulder while hiking up a path with a group of friends. EMS dispatched the AMS rescue helicopter and hoisted the patient into the helicopter. She was airlifted to Vincent Pallotti Hospital. The rescue crew consisted of an AMS pilot, AMS paramedic and EMS rescue technician.
