Inaugural WCSBOC Conference

The Western Cape Small Bus Operators Council (WCSBOC) inaugural provincial conference took place on 16 March 2013 at the Garden Court, Nelson Mandela Boulevard, Woodstock.

Items discussed include:

• Issues of empowerment.
• Formalisation of the industry.
• Safety.
• Compliance.
• Code of conduct in time for the Easter holidays.

The conference is part of a long process which started at the Small Bus Operators Summit held in Johannesburg in 2009.

The WCSBOC has about 175 operators and over 250 buses.

Six regions are represented on the Council:

• Eden
• Karoo
• West Coast
• Overberg
• Winelands
• Cape Metropole

The Executive and Council members were introduced at the conference.

The conference was hosted by the WCSBOC in conjunction with the Western Cape Department of Transport and Public Works.
