Coronavirus and vaccine rollout update by Acting Premier Bonginkosi Madikizela

As of 1pm on 12 March, the Western Cape has 2799 active Covid-19 infections with a total of 277 311 confirmed Covid-19 cases and 263 178 recoveries. A total of 23 130 out of the 25 960 vaccines received to date as part of the Sisonke trial, had been administered by 5pm on 11 March.

The Western Cape has recorded 5 additional deaths, bringing the total number of COVID-19 related deaths in the province to 11 334. We send our condolences to their loved ones at this time.
