Beauvallon Secondary School maintenance complete

The Department of Transport and Public Works has completed a R7m preventative maintenance project at Beauvallon Secondary School in Valhalla Park.

Key works included repairs to ablutions, ceilings and stormwater systems, roof replacements, external painting, and the unblocking of sewerage systems. Dilapidated buildings were also demolished.

This project created short-term employment for six Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) participants from the local community. The six also received skills training in plumbing, roofing, carpentry and fencing. This is expected to assist them to find further employment in the future.
