Minister Carlisle Welcomes Chapman's Peak Ruling in Cape High Court

11 March 2012

Robin Carlisle, the Minister of Transport and Public Works in the Western Cape, has welcomed Judge Rosheni Allie throwing out an urgent application to try and halt construction on Chapman's Peak.

Judge Allie dismissed the application by the Hout Bay Residents' Association's with costs for three counsel.

Minister Carlisle said, "I have always maintained that we were acting lawfully and in accordance with due process."

"Judge Allie's ruling indicates she has found nothing substantial in this matter to suggest this was not the case."
