Roadworks between De Rust and Oudtshoorn update

15 August 2018

The Department of Transport and Public Works regrets to advise that stop/ go controls will be in place on two sections of the R341 between Oudtshoorn and De Rust.

Only one lane of traffic will be permitted at a time for an extended period. This is due to unavoidable delays caused by the appointment of a replacement contractor for a project to upgrade and reseal portions of this road.

Roadmac Surfacing Cape (Pty) Ltd was awarded the contract to complete the works, which includes widening the road from Oudtshoorn to just past the Dysselsdorp intersection and repair and resurfacing the remainder of the road up to Willowmore/Uniondale intersection outside of De Rust.

The contract officially commenced on 15 June 2018 and is scheduled to run for 18 months, with completion due in December 2019.
