Minister Carlisle to Visit Weskus Special Needs School

22 May 2012

Robin Carlisle, the Minister of Transport and Public Works in the Western Cape, will be visiting Saldanha Bay's Weskus Special Needs School on 24 May to monitor minibus taxi traffic in Saldanha Road outside.

The ministry has received numerous complaints from the school's principal, amongst others, about reckless taxi drivers endangering the lives of students at the special needs school.

The minister, who will inspect new road signage put up by the Saldanha Municipality after requests from the ministry, will be joined by officers from Provincial and Municipal Traffic.

The traffic enforcement operation will commence at 13:00 and will last until after the school's 14:00 home bell.
