Yzerfontein to Langebaan (R27 Update)

4 December 2015

The R27 will be subject to half width closures between Yzerfontein (KM71.41) and Langebaan (KM111.45) from September 2015 to mid-2016.

No closures will be in effect between 11 December 2015 and 5 January 2016.

The contract has been awarded to Roadmac Surfacing Cape in August 2015. The contract is expected to be completed next year.

Traffic will be accommodated on the existing road. In some instances, signalled one-way traffic will be necessary.

It is a provision of the contract that traffic shall be accommodated with the least delay and discomfort to the public. No full road closures will be allowed.

The safety and convenience of the travelling public are of utmost importance and every effort will be made to ensure that all temporary road signs, cones, flagmen and speed controls are maintained and are effective, and that courtesy is extended to the public at all times.

The contractor is required to make use of approved methods to control the movement of his equipment and vehicles so as not to constitute a hazard on public roads. The public is requested to be patient and exercise caution when using the road.
