Name and Shame Campaign Shut Down By Department of Justice

Robin Carlisle, Minister of Transport and Public Works will be briefing the media on the shutting down of the Name and Shame campaign by the National Department of Justice on 13 June 2013.

The campaign took place between August 2010 and November 2012, and was a partnership between the Western Cape’s Safely Home campaign and LeadSA.

Through this campaign, individuals convicted of drink driving offences in the Province were named and shamed on a regular basis in the Cape Argus newspaper.

Minister Carlisle will brief the media on the campaign and the disastrous effects that shutting it down are having on road deaths in the Province.
