Sod-turning For Rose Valley Library Opens New Opportunities

22 August 2018

On 20 August 2018 Western Cape Minister of Cultural Affairs and Sport, Anroux Marais, officiated the sod-turning for the new Rose Valley Library in Oudtshoorn.

Minister Marais handed over a cheque of R2m to the Deputy Mayor of Oudtshoorn, Cllr Noluthando Mwati as part of a two-year partnership in which the Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport (DCAS) has committed an amount of R8,5m to the Oudtshoorn Municipality for the building of the Rose Valley Library.

“I believe that this facility will become a meeting place that will advance social integration. Libraries open the windows to the world and inspire us to explore, achieve and to improve our quality of life”, said Minister Marais.

DCAS is committed to provide free, equitable and accessible library services to Western Cape Communities. Let us create well-informed, literate communities, BETTER TOGETHER.
