Vredendal Caravan Park

Description:

Vredendal is on the Olifants River wine route, which includes the large vineyards of Westcorp and Lutzville, a number of petite boutique cellars producing some up and coming wines. Doing this wine route is only one of the many activities that this town offers to its visitors.

The town’s economy is based on mining and agriculture.  The Olifants River Irrigations Scheme has made it possible for farming.  Vredendal has one of the country’s largest cooperative wine cellars, Namaqua Wines. The town was originally known as Bakkeley Plaats. A Place of interest is the Old Roman Catholic Church.
