The Elsenburg Agricultural Training Institute (EATI) will be hosting an Open Day on Saturday, 3 June 2017 at the Percheron Hall at Elsenburg.  The Elsenburg Agricultural Training Institute is situated on the beautiful research farm, Elsenburg, approximately 12km outside of Stellenbosch and 50km from Cape Town.  The event will be open from 9am until 3pm and the entrance is free.

Accessibility        

  • Percheron Hall is wheelchair friendly
  • A shuttle will be available at Muldersvlei station every hour as from 8:30am until 2pm

Food and drink arrangements

  • Food and drinks vendors will be on site
  • Halaal snacks will be available to purchase

  • Parking will be available on site at the college

Prospective students and parents can interact with the various faculties and programmes:
 

  • Vegetable Production & Agronomy (Agronomy, Grains, Vegetable Production).
  • Horticulture (Cultivation of Deciduous Fruits, Citrus Cultivation and Pests and Diseases of Deciduous Fruits).
  • Animal Production (Dairy cattle, Small Stock Science, Small stock breeding, Wool and Meat Science, Animal Nutrition, Aquaculture).
  • Viticulture & Oenology (Introduction to Viticulture, Wine grape cultivation, Integrated production of wine and Table and Raisin Grape cultivation).
  • Business Science (Agribusiness Management, Computer Practice) .
  • Basic Science (Soil formation and physics, Chemical properties of soil, Mathematical calculations, Engineering, Irrigation, Calibration, Biology).
  • Extension (Communication for innovation, Farming Systems and Sustainable Livelihoods, Group approach in Extension).
  • University of Stellenbosch:  AgriScience Faculty (application to B.Agric).
  • Further Education and Training (Learnerships & Short Skills courses).
  • Student Life (SRC, sports, societies).
  • Student Affairs (admission requirements, application process, hostel placement).
  • External Development Initiatives (bursaries, internships, Young Professional Persons Programme).

Computers will be available where students can complete online applications (only Degree course).  Applications for Higher Certificate and Learnership must be completed manually.
