(Western Cape Government)
The MOD Programme has been operational in District Central of the Cape Metropole since mid-2010, contributing to mass participation and opportunity, talent identification and skills development for underserved schools and disadvantaged communities.
There are currently a total of 23 MOD Centres in the region, located in primary schools, high schools as well as in recreation centres. Plans are afoot to open more centres. The MOD Programme provides employment and capacity building opportunities for community workers. This supports the national imperatives for job creation and skills development.
