The MOD Programme is located within the Directorate of Sports Development, Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport, Western Cape Government. The directorate is divided into three subdirectorates: School Sport; Recreation; and the MOD Programme and Operational Support Unit.
School Sport Unit
This unit is responsible for specific sport and specialised sport as well as school sport.

Recreation
This unit deals with recreation, including indigenous games, arts and culture, farm and community sport centres as well as the Golden Games (sport for senior citizens) and mass participation events.
