What is Sector Development?

Sector Development supports the growth and competitiveness of key industries in the Western Cape. Working with industry partners, it helps businesses improve performance, increase productivity, and access new opportunities in local and global markets.

Strengthening industries and creating long-term economic growth

This sub-programme supports the growth and competitiveness of key economic sectors in the Western Cape. It works with industry partners to help businesses improve performance, increase productivity, and become more competitive in both local and global markets.

Support is focused on strengthening value chains, improving collaboration across industries, and unlocking opportunities for expansion within priority sectors. This includes helping businesses adapt to changing market conditions, adopt better practices, and access new growth opportunities.

By building stronger and more resilient industries, this work contributes to sustainable job creation, increased investment, and long-term economic growth for the province.

The guide is designed for Western Cape growth-oriented enterprises interested in learning about the process of developing international markets. It is aimed primarily at senior managers, marketing directors, export managers, export marketing personnel, and other sales and marketing staff involved in day-to-day export functions, providing valuable support to export managers.
