Export Growth through Global Market Expansion

The Department of Economic Development and Tourism (DEDAT) invites export-enabling intermediary organisations to apply for financial assistance through the Export Global Accelerator Programme (EGAP) Fund.

The programme supports Western Cape exporters to expand into existing and new international markets, increase export volumes and create jobs in line with the Western Cape Growth for Jobs (G4J) Strategy.

R500 000 – R2.5 million

Ready to accelerate global export growth?

If you are an export-enabling intermediary organisation supporting Western Cape-based exporters, prepare your application for the EGAP Fund 2026/27.

Preference will be given to proposals demonstrating scalable and sustainable impacts on export growth and job creation. 

About EGAP

The Export Global Accelerator Programme is a collaborative initiative between DEDAT and export-enabling intermediary organisations.

The programme aims to:

  • Expand access into international markets
  • Increase the value and volume of exports
  • Support market diversification
  • Help exporters navigate global trade requirements
  • Expand product offerings
  • Contribute to job creation
  • Support the objectives of the Western Cape Growth for Jobs Strategy

EGAP will provide support for the following interventions

1.International Market Development 

  • Export market research and intelligence
  • Buyer-seller matchmaking

2. Product and Innovation Development 

  • Late-stage innovation
  • Product enhancement for exports

3. Sub sector or industry wide export support

  • Export compliance solutions
  • Shared export support platforms or systems

DEDAT encourages systemic interventions that deliver shared, long-term value to exporters within a sub-sector.

The programme will not support the following activities:

  • Operational and working capital
  • Purchase of stock
  • Construction or infrastructure development
  • Trade missions or trade fairs/shows
  • Policy advocacy or lobbying
  • Enterprises without a Western Cape presence or operations
  • Multiple EGAP applications from the same intermediary organisation in one financial year

Priority sub-sectors

Priority will be given to export-enabling intermediary organisations operating in Western Cape sub-sectors with export growth potential.

Who can apply

EGAP is aimed at export-enabling intermediary organisations. Examples include:

Industry Associations | Export Councils | Other export-enabling intermediary organisations.

IMPORTANT: Individual companies and entrepreneurs cannot apply directly to EGAP.
