Who we are?
The Research, Economic Policy, and Planning (REPP) team is a unit within the Department of Economic Development and Tourism. REPP serves as the economic thought leader for both the Western Cape and the broader African continent. Rooted in forward-looking policy development, the unit's core mission is to inform and shape effective economic policy, strategic planning, and decision-making through robust economic intelligence – empowering decision-makers and fostering sustainable growth.
