About the Webinar Series & Workshop

Blue North and the Western Cape Government Department of Economic Development and Tourism hosted two webinars and a workshop as part of our Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) Ecosystem Support Project.

The initiative supports Western Cape food and beverage exporters in understanding evolving international sustainability requirements and preparing businesses for future export market expectations.

Purpose of the Webinars

The Future-proof Webinar was aimed at the South African food and beverage industry stakeholders who want to better understand export-market regulations such as CBAM, associated Green Deal regulations and wider green transition requirements, how these developments may affect their businesses and what practical steps they can take to strengthen export readiness to meet evolving market expectations.

Green Transition Stakeholder Workshop

The Green Transition Stakeholder Workshop subsequently focused on moving from awareness into action — to identify the practical barriers created by export regulations and directives, clarify what each part of the value chain can do, and determine where collaboration and support are most needed.
