How the Red Tape Reduction Unit assisted FrenchCraft Vintners with their red tape challenge!

FrenchCraft Vintners is a wine company that blends French winemaking expertise with the terroir of South Africa to create unique wines. The business focuses on both local and international wines and offer wine experience events. Their wines are crafted with a blend of traditional French winemaking techniques and modern advancements, resulting in elegant and sophisticated wines.
Alexandre Barrière Izard, a young entrepreneur and owner of FrenchCraft Vintners, based in the Western Cape was truly motivated to grow his business, contribute through taxes, and create jobs. However, the delay to obtain a micro-manufacturing liquor licence which was pending for over 9 months was holding him back from doing so. As a result, the client was unable to sell directly to the public, which significantly impacted on his business causing financial strain.
The client reached out to the Red Tape Reduction unit and the Business Support Helpline Service through the Red Tape mailbox e-mail, redtape@westerncape.gov.za . Mr Shan Peters, within the Red Tape Reduction Unit immediately acted on the request, and with his responsiveness to resolve the enquiry, ensured that a positive result was achieved within one month of receiving it! The unit reached out to the Western Cape Liquor Authority to investigate the challenge.
