Green Papers are draft policy documents, prepared for public consultation. After the consultation period the final policy is published in a White Paper. At the end of this page there is an archive of Green Papers. A 'For Comment' link will appear there if there are any currently open for comment.

This is the initial proposal for a biodiversity strategy for South Africa. It explains what biodiversity is and looks at how we can protect the biodiversity in South Africa by using our resources carefully, creating awareness around conservation and creating conditions that support biodiversity protection.
