Skills Development and Innovation

The Skills Development and Innovation Programme facilitates the provisioning of human capital skills, innovation and technology in order to deliver on the human resources development needs of the Western Cape economy.

The Skills Development and Innovation Programme is actively involved in smoothing out the many challenges that are brought about in the transition from education to employment. Skills development is a major constraint to higher levels of economic growth and development and it remains one of the policy priority areas for the Western Cape Government.

The programme is structured into three sub-programmes:

  • Provincial Skills Co-ordination
  • Workforce Development
  • Innovation
