Consumers are facing challenging times with interest rate hikes, increased costs for goods and services and the general increase in the cost of living.

Many consumers who are faced with this challenge see the option of “easy loans” and other types of credit as the quick fix to deal with their financial challenges.

Consequently, there's a growing need to continuously inform our consumers about both the positives and negatives about credit so that they remain knowledgeable about their rights and obligations within this area.

The Financial Literacy Education Programme provides more information about:

  • why there's a need to budget,
  • how to budget,
  • what you can do if you're over-indebted,
  • who will be able to assist you, and
  • emolument attachment and garnishee orders.
