First-ever Western Cape Investment Summit to fast-track job creation and economic growth

11 September 2025 | by

The first-ever Western Cape Investment Summit will matchmake investors with high-impact, investment-ready projects, fast-tracking job creation and inclusive economic growth for the province.

Speaking at the launch event in Cape Town today, Premier Alan Winde said, “This rapid deal-making platform is the sort of innovation we need to compete for opportunities in the global marketplace. There are already close to 100 projects in the pipeline, representing hundreds of billions of Rands of investment potential, and deal-making slots for investors are filling up fast!”

Premier Winde continued, “We are pushing to build a R1 trillion economy growing by 5% annually, and to boost private-sector investment to 20% of our regional GDP. This can only be achieved through smart partnerships, enabling policy, and a shared vision for a more prosperous future for all our residents.”

Provincial Minister of Infrastructure Tertuis Simmers added, “Infrastructure is the engine of growth where opportunity meets delivery. Through the Western Cape Infrastructure Framework 2050 and our R200 billion project pipeline, we have real, investment-ready opportunities in housing, energy, transport, water, and digital infrastructure. At the Western Cape Investment Summit, we will showcase how the Western Cape Government is ready to partner with investors and the private sector to build a resilient, inclusive and future-proof province.”

The 3-day summit will connect investors, project developers, industry leaders, and government decision-makers. The programme includes keynote sessions with global thought leaders, sector showcases and workshops, investor–project matchmaking sessions in a dedicated ‘Deal Room’, advisory support, and site visits to high-potential projects – all designed to facilitate deal-making and advance the Western Cape’s status as Africa’s leading investment destination.

The Western Cape Investment Summit takes place from 5 to 7 November 2025 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre under the theme “Catalysing Growth, Connecting Opportunities”.

The deadline for project submissions is 18 September 2025 and all information about how to apply to attend is available at www.wcis.co.za
