The Department of Infrastructure includes public works infrastructure, transport infrastructure, human settlements, and community based programmes/ Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP). The approach is framed by five focus areas of the Western Cape Infrastructure Framework (WCIF 2050): Prioritising infrastructure for maximum impact, municipal infrastructure, private sector partnerships, innovation and futures planning, and climate change.
The Human Settlements branch is responsible for developing sustainable integrated human settlements in the Western Cape.
