Events Support
The Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport (DCAS) in partnership with the Western Cape Events Forum (WCEF) empowers sport federations and event organisers and owners in the Western Cape to successfully bid and host Major Events within the Western Cape.
This events portal serves as a point of entry for event organisers to present their proposals for support via an online system. An individual profile is created which allows for event proposals to be captured and submitted for consideration.
As part of the collaborative effort with the WCEF all applications submitted via the portal are accessed by:
- Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport
- Department of Economic Development and Tourism
- Department of the Premier
- WESGRO
In doing so, event organisers are able to access multiple departments through a single point.
Additionally, the portal provides access to valuable information such as event impact assessment toolkits that collect valuable quantitative and qualitative Socio-Economic data that can be used to build the value existing events as well as assist in providing event impact data to further develop the events pipeline in the Western Cape
