About Us

The Bongolethu e-Centre was one of the Cape Access Programme’s first e-centres, established in 2005. It is situated in Bongolethu at the local library and is divided into two parts: one for International Computer Driving Licence (ICDL) training and another for internet access. The centre embodies the spirit of sharing and community development, giving members of the community free internet access, skills training and information and communications technology (ICT) support.

About Bongolethu

Bongulethu, which is Xhosa for “our pride”, is a township 10 km east of Oudtshoorn. The area is known for the Cango Caves and its scorching heat, which makes it the ideal habitat for ostriches – the area’s top export product.
