Youth in Africa Expo
DEDAT partnered with the Western Cape Education Department and the Cape Town International Convention Centre in the hosting of the YIA expo at the CTICC on the 25th – 26th June 2025.
The Youth in Action Expo 2025 is a two-day exhibition designed to empower young people by connecting them with academic institutions, corporate employers, and organisations offering education, career guidance, and job opportunities.
The event places a strong emphasis on inclusivity, welcoming:
• Learners from marginalised communities and lower quintile schools
• Tertiary students from across the province
• Learners and individuals with disabilities, ensuring accessible participation and targeted opportunities
Thousands of youths were allowed to engage with 170 exhibitors offering career guidance and workplace opportunities across various sectors.
In its support and participation in the hosting of the YIA expo, DEDAT enabled its G4J priorities in a practical and meaningful way of affording marginalised youth increased access to economic opportunities and employment.
