For the second year, OLICO Maths Education, The Community Chest and the After School Programme Office, invite you to join the 2019 Times-Table Challenge. The challenge is open to all Grade 6-9 learners from schools in the Western Cape and is designed to help learners get on top of their times-tables and build a love for maths while they have fun! After weeks of practicing, the top schools will be invited to compete for the top prizes at the UWC Campus on 14th September 2019.
In order to participate, schools need to have computer/tablet access as well as internet.
Registration:
Step 1: A teacher/tutor signs-up HERE
Step 2: Will will send you the logins for the learners
Step 3: Learners participate in the challenge and score points for their class.
School Finals: School finals will take place at each of the participating schools to allow the
school to select 2 learners per grade to send to the finals.
Grand Finale: The grand finale will be run at the University of the Western Cape on 14
September 2019. Learners will compete in their grades and prizes will be awarded to the
fastest learners. The tournament will be a sudden death tournament.
Class Prizes: Prizes will be awarded to classes in which the greatest proportion of learners
are fluent in their times-tables. The prizes will be a class pizza/cake/chocolate party.
Individual Prizes: Prizes will be awarded to the fastest learners who stand a chance to win
scientific calculators, airtime, stationery packs and bragging rights.

Participation is free.
What does my class need to join?
The competition is run online. All users need to be able to access a device that can go online (computers/tablets/cellphones) to be able to compete.

Any classes from grade 6 to 9.
When does the challenge start?
8 July 2019 (but still open and it’s easy to catch up)
When are the finals?
14 September
