Bicycle Empowerment
BEN commits to facilitate the delivery through the 17 Bicycle Empowerment Centres (BEC) of 1500 low cost durable bicycles to Western Cape communities that are in need and to train and educate the recipients of the bicycles in safety and bicycle maintenance. To complement the increased volume of bicycles, BEN seeks to establish 3 more BEC projects where bicycles can be serviced and supplies can be made available so as to keep the bicycles functional. Furthermore, BEN commits to working with the local authorities to assist in the improving of the planning and implementation of the necessary infrastructure.
