Financial Governance and Accounting: Overview

The Head:Financial Governance is the provincial accountant general of the province and is responsible for developing, implementing and communicating optimum financial and management standards, norms and practices and to assess and report on these.

Provincial Government Accounting ensures that financial reporting of departments and public entities is a full and true reflection of the financial position of these institutions as required by the PFMA.

Local Government Accounting ensures that financial reporting of municipalities and municipal entities is a full and true reflection of the financial position of these institutions as required by the MFMA.

Financial Governance develops and implements corporate (financial) governance and enterprise risk management norms and standards in provincial departments, municipalities and entities.
