Minister Mackenzie to launch WC October Transport Month under safety banner

On Friday 29 September 2023, Western Cape Minister of Mobility, Ricardo Mackenzie, will officially launch the Western Cape’s ‘October Transport Month’ programme. This year is the 18th instalment of the annual October Transport Month (OTM), which aims to highlight the importance of the transportation sector in South Africa.

For OTM 2023, the Western Cape Mobility Department will focus on promoting safety across all modes of transport. This includes the Department’s wide range of transport-related responsibilities, including Road Safety Education, Traffic Law Enforcement, Fleet services, the Provincial Regulatory Entity, Sustainable Transport with a focus on Pedestrians, Scholar Transport Safety, Traffic Training and Development, and Freight Management.
