Media Alert: Visit to Golden Girls Haven, Langa by Minister Ramatlakane

In his capacity as Acting Premier, Western Cape Minister for Community Safety Leonard Ramatlakane will visit 60 children aged between 5 and 15 years at the Golden Girls Haven in Langa later today (17h00). Departing from Langa police station.

According to reports received by Minister Ramatlakane, all the children are mentally challenged and some of them have been dumped at this home when they were diagnosed with HIV/ AIDS. A single woman has been looking after them with a monthly grant support from the government.

Minister Ramatlakane will be accompanied by Western Cape Health Minister Pierre Uys and Director General of the Provincial Government Western Cape Gilbert Lawrence.

"I am visiting these cihldren not only to give them food parcels but what we can do as government as a sustainable mechanism in helping to improve thier situation."

Media willing to accompany at the Minister and his entourage are welcome. Minister Ramatlakane and his delegation will be met at the Langa police station before being taken to the house.
