There is little accurate information on unemployed people in the Western Province. The Expanded Public Works Programmes (EPWP) Opportunities Portal aims to be a comprehensive provincial database of unemployed people and their skills. The portal, called Umsebenzi: - helps job seekers find job opportunities
- helps employers find skilled workers
- gives information on job training and related services
- makes links to existing initiatives and programmes
Job seekers, employers and recruiters can register online on the database. Registration is free. Registered job seekers can search for vacancies, create CV's, apply for jobs and get updates on vacancies via email. Registered employees and recruiters can post jobs, comment on job seeker's profiles and view lists of jobs seekers interested in specific jobs. The portal gives information on services for job seekers and small businesses. This includes information on finance and funding, entrepreneurship support organizations and career advice. |
