The Children's Hospital Trust

The Children's Hospital Trust was established in 1994 to fundraise for the Red Cross War Memorial Children's Hospital - the largest stand-alone tertiary hospital in sub-Saharan Africa, dedicated entirely to children. The Trust is an independent, non-profit organisation that relies on the benevolence of donors to realise its aims. Since its inception the Trust has supported the Hospital through upgrading its buildings, purchasing vital equipment and funding critical training and research programmes.

In 2011 the Trust expanded its fundraising reach beyond the Hospital's doors to impact more broadly on the quality of healthcare for children at more community touch-points. Projects and programmes prioritised will always impact directly on the services and outcomes at the Red Cross War Memorial Children's Hospital.

The Trust is funded from an endowment, ensuring that 100% of all donations received are used towards the projects and programmes they fund. Not a cent is used for administration or operational expenses.
