Looking forward to your first PAY cheque?
If the answer is "YES", the Premier's Advancement of Youth (PAY) Project is for you. The project will provide 1000 Matriculants from the class of 2011 with work and training while being paid for the period starting 1 March until 31 December 2012.
Who can apply to be a part of this project?
- If you are not going to study further and are unemployed.
- If you have passed the National Senior Certificate (NSC) 2011 in the Western Cape.
- If you are a South African citizen.
- If you have no network or support to help you make career choices.
What work related exposure will be given?
On the job training will be provided in the following departments:
- Department of the Premier
- Department of Agriculture
- Department of Community Safety
- Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport
- Department of Economic Development and Tourism
- Department of Environmental Affairs and Development Planning
- Department of Health
- Department of Human Settlements
- Department Local Government
- Department of Social Development
- Department of Transport and Public Works
- Provincial Treasury
- The Western Cape Education Department (WCED)
You will have gained valuable work experience in the public sector and:
- Contactable references for your new CV.
- A set of skills and experience that will make you more marketable.
- The year will provide you with enough time to make informed career choices together with a supportive network to back it up.
