Keep Track of Your Postal Items

Track and trace Track and trace sticker

Have you experienced the frustration of losing a parcel or registered letter? Well, you can track and trace postal items online using the South African Post Office (SAPO) tracking system.

The Tracking Process

All barcoded items in the mail stream, for example, registered letters, parcels and courier items are scanned at each point where they are sorted or handed over. Thanks to this method, it is possible to find out exactly where your individual postal item is.

How to Track and Trace Postal Items?

  • You can track postal items using the South African Post Office online tracking system.
  • You have to enter the item identifier here (as found on the bar code label), e.g. RD846493458 (don't add the ZA) or T000002355.
  • If you prefer to speak to a consultant, call the Post Office's Customer Support Desk on 0860 111 502 and give your tracking number.
