The City of Cape Town will host the Mayor of Arcueil and French delegates at a community meeting in Athlone. Arcueil is situated five kilometres south of Paris in France. Ward Councillor for Ward 49, Councillor Charlotte Tabisher, will officiate at the community meeting.

The Municipality of Arcueil has had a long relationship with South Africa. With the arrival of Dulcie September as representative of the ANC in 1984 the relationship was greatly strengthened. Dulcie September, who grew up in Athlone, lived in Arcueil from 1986 up to her assassination outside the ANC office in Paris in 1988.
