Joining Premier Ebrahim Rasool at the new ARV Centre in Gugulethu are Reuben Jonas, Laura Angeletti du Toit, Ulricke Kuscke and Shamil Gamildien.
The Works: Health Services component of the provincial Department for Transport and Public Works helped to bring about the establishment of the Hannah Crusaid Anti-Retroviral Treatment Centre (named after a major UK-based sponsoring organisation). The facility is based in Gugulethu and is the first ARV centre in the Western Cape. Referred to by Premier Ebrahim Rasool as a symbol of a healthy home for all, the centre consists of four consulting rooms, a large entrance and waiting area and one blood-testing room.
The Department of Transport and Public Works, the Department of Health and the Hannah Crusaid Trust are all very pleased with the new facility.
The Premier and Ministers Mcibisi Skwatsha and Pierre Uys were joined by community members to celebrate the opening of this important facility.
