The 2004 election has resulted in two additional parties being represented in the Western Cape Provincial Parliament namely the Independent Democrats, who have secured three seats, and the United Democratic Movement with one seat. The African National Congress has 19 seats and the Democratic Alliance has secured 12 seats. The African Christian Democratic Party won two seats and with 170 469 votes the New National Party has secured five seats for the party.
The new and returning Members will be sworn in on Monday, 26 April 2004, after which the Premier, Speaker and Deputy Speaker will be elected.Election 2004 - Results for the Western Cape
